Ingredients
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup finely chopped candy canes, divided
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2-3 Tb milk

Step 1
Beat 1 ½ cup powdered sugar and butter until fluffy. Add vanilla and egg. Beat until combined. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir to combine. Slowly add to first mixture, beating until combined, one minute. Stir in 1/2 cup candy canes by hand. Form into balls. Roll in sugar and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool. Stir 1/12 cup powdered sugar and 2-3 Tb of milk. Add just enough milk to make a thick glaze. Drizzle over cookies and top with remaining candy canes.
Another option: Roll cookie balls in red or green colored sugar and push down a red striped peppermint kiss in the center. Bake.
