Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine 250 mL
  • 1 cup brown sugar 250 mL
  • 1 tsp. baking soda 5 mL
  • 2 tsp. hot water 10 mL
  • 1 egg 1
  • 1 tsp. vanilla 5 mL
  • 1 cup ROGERS NO ADDITIVE / ALL PURPOSE FLOUR 250 mL
  • 3 cups ROGERS LARGE FLAKE OATS 750 mL
  • 1 cup chocolate chips 250 mL

Step 1




Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Cream butter and sugar together. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and stir into creamed mixture. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well. Combine ROGERS NO ADDITIVE/ALL PURPOSE FLOUR and oats and add to the mixture; stir in chocolate chips and mix well.

Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheets, about 2" (5 cm) apart, flatten with a fork, and bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
