Preparation
Step 1
Heat your oven to 350 degrees. On the stove heat the chocolate chips and the half & half, stirring constantly until the chips are melted and the mixture is smooth. Take off the burner to cool while you set up your custard cups. Set your custard cups in a baking dish. The dish needs to be deep because you will be adding water to it.
Beat the eggs, sugar, rum flavoring, and salt in a separate bowl. Add the ingredients to the chocolate, a little bit at a time. Stir after each addition.
Distribute the chocolate evenly into the custard cups. (I used 4) Add boiling water to your baking pan. You should add enough so that the water goes about 1/2 way up the custard cups. Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove the custard cups carefully, as they are very hot. Wrap each cup in saran wrap, and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, but no more than 24 hours.
