Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 quart milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 8 slices cubed bread
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees or 325 degrees if using a glass baking dish. Mix sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Beat eggs in slowly. Stir in milk and vanilla. Add bread cubes, raisins, and melted butter. Pour into a 9" square pan.

Vanilla Suace :
Over medium heat in a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup each of butter, sugar, brown sugar, and whipping cream. Bring to a boil, stirring until thickened, 5 to 8 minutes. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Cinnamon Chocolate Sauce :
As per above, combine 1 cup cream, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate. Boil for 30 seconds, remove from heat, stir until chocolate is melted. Add 1 Tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

Caramel Sauce :
As per above, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup whipping cream, 1/4 cup corn syrup, and 1 Tablespoon butter. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
