Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cream 1 1/2 cups sugar & butter in mixing bowl until fluffy. Add egg & egg white; beat well again.

In separate bowl stir together flours, soda, and salt. Beat into creamed mixture.

In small bowl combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into walnut sized balls then roll into cinnamon sugar mixture. Place balls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cookies will puff up and flatten as they bake. Cool on wire racks.
