Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-3 oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 to 1 drop of red food coloring

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Combine the first four ingredients. Beat until fluffy. Separate dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each into a smooth log. Wrap each log in flour-dusted wax paper. Chill for at least 6 hours. After six hours, allow dough to soften for 15 minutes. Grease baking sheets.

Slice dough into ¼ inch thick slices. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Combine all frosting ingredients and beat until creamy. Pipe a small amount on top of cooled cookies.

Yields 8 dozen
