Ingredients

  • 3 slices toasted bread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 lb. ground pork
  • 1-3/4 lbs. grounds beef
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 small onion minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1.4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Dash pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup beef bullion

Step 1

Soften toast in milk, squeeze out excess moisture. Add ground meat, eggs, onion, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Mix thoroughly. Dust hands with flour and shape meat into small 1" balls. Heat butter or margarine in large skillet. Add meat balls and fry slowly over low heat. When balls are browned, remove from pan. Blend in skillet flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, dash of pepper and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Heat until bubbly. Stir in 1 cup cream and 1 cup beef bullion. Cook until thick. Add meat balls, Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
