CRISPIEST APPLE CRISP

Ingredients
- For the topping:
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oatmeal (rolled oats)
- 1/2 cup Grape Nuts
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- For the filling:
- 5-6 apples
- juice of 1/2 lemon
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
Pour melted butter in bowl. Add nest 5 ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
Peel apples. Use different kinds, like granny smith and pink lady or whatever you like. Core and slice. Add to a bowl. Add lemon juice after you put about 2 apples in the bowl and shake up to coat. Shake up after every addition of apples.
Add butter to pan on med heat to melt. Add sugars to butter and stir til they
melt. Add cinnamon. Stir well and then add the apple slices and the water. Cook apples till they start to soften and are well coated with the sauce.
Don't worry about little bits of hard sugar. That's the candy part.
Pour the apples in a casserole dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the topping over the apples. Do not press down. Place dish in 375o oven for 25 mins. Let cool so you do not burn you mouth. Enjoy!
