Ingredients

  • 1 cube butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten slightly
  • 3/4 cup dark Karo
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Step 1

Cream butter, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake on lower shelf at 375 for 40 – 45 minutes. Pie is shaky in middle when finished baking, but firms as it cools.

For chocolate pecan pie – decrease sugar to 1/3 cup and add ¼ oz. melted semi sweet chocolate.

For tarts – make only ½ recipe and bake 30 minutes.
