Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup sifted confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
- 1 1/2 tsp vegetable shortening

Preparation
Step 1
In large bowl beat butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
In separate bowl sift together flour and salt. Gradually sir flour mixture into butter mixture until well blended. Stir in nuts.
Shape dough into a 2" diameter roll. Wrap roll in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hr or overnight.
Preheat oven to 300.
Cut roll into 1/2 inch thick slices. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 20 min or until cookies begin to brown. Remove from oven.
While cooling, melt chocolate and stir in shortening. Mix well. Dep one end of each cooled cookie into chocolate mix. Refrigerate cookies until chocolate hardens. Store in cool place.
