Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1 tablespoon dark molasses
- 2/3 cup softened butter
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons water

Preparation
Step 1
Combine all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor. With the steel blade, mix until a dough forms.
Divide the dough into 3 parts and shape each into a roll about 1 inch in diameter. Roll up in plastic wrap or waxed paper and chill until firm, 1 to 2 hours or longer.
Cover baking sheets with parchment. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Slice the cookies 1/4-inch thick and place on baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until barely browned.
