Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken (about 3 pounds)
- 1 each medium potato and onion1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon each black pepper and paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons water1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 (10-ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables

Step 1
1Place chicken on cutting board; cut into pieces. Place chicken in large bowl. Wash cutting board and knife.
.2Peel potato and cut into 2-inch strips; set aside. Chop onion; set aside.
.3Mix salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder in small bowl; rub over chicken.
.4Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat; add chicken, skin side down. Cover and cook 10 minutes. Add water to chicken; cover skillet and cook 30 minutes longer, turning chicken every 10 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet; set aside.
.5Add potato and onion to pan juices in skillet; cook until onion is tender, about 3 minutes.
.6Add tomato sauce, broth and sugar; cook until liquid comes to a boil. Add vegetables and chicken pieces; cover and cook until vegetables are tender, 10 to 12 minutes. Serve hot.
