Ingredients
- Cookies:
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or butter vanilla
- 2 1/2 cup sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Icing:
- 1 stick butter
- Powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Milk or Cream

Step 1
Cream butter, add sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, add flour, baking soda, tartar and salt. Chill dough (refrigerate over night).
Roll out on floured surface. Cut into shapes (optional)
Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 minutes until lightly brown Makes 3 dozen cookies
ICING:
Cream butter with powdered sugar. Add 1 tsp vanilla and little milk or cream to desired consistency.
