  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced1 tablespoon corn oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 20 cubes)
  • 1 small pineapple, cut into 1-inch cubes (about 20 cubes)

Step 1

1Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, garlic and corn oil in a large bowl and mix well.
.2Add the beef and pineapple to the soy sauce mixture and mix well; cover. Chill, stirring two times, for 30 minutes.
.3Preheat the grill to medium.
.4Drain the beef and pineapple, reserving marinade. Thread the beef and pineapple alternately onto wooden skewers.
.5Grill the kebabs 4 inches from the heat, turning them frequently and basting with reserved marinade, until beef is browned, about 5 to 10 minutes.
