Ingredients
- 3/4 cup +2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon black Walnut act extract
- 3/4 cup black walnuts
- 3/4 cups shredded coconut
- 4 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon bakingsoda
- 1/4 cup milk

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening until soft.
Add sugars gradually, continue to cream until late and fluffy.
Add a the vanilla black Walnut extract; beat well.
Grind nuts and coconut together very fine;add to creamed mixture.
Sift flour cream of tartar, salt, baking soda together, add alternately with milk, beat well after each addition.
Chill dough for 10 minutes.
Packed into cookie gun make into desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in hot oven 400°.
