  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla until light. Sift the flour with baking powder and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Add to the creamed mixture, blending well. Chill the dough 30 minutes.

Cover the baking sheets with parchment paper. preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the walnuts, 2 tablespoons cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar in a small bowl.

Shape the chilled dough into balls the size of walnuts. Roll each ball in the walnut-cinnamon mixture. Place on the prepared baking sheets about 3 inches apart. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden and set. Do not overbake.
