Ingredients

  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp. salad oil
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. red pepper
  • 8 frankfurters, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup fine dry breadcrumbs
  • Hot salad oil

Step 1

Combine egg, milk, and oil. Combine flour, salt, baking powder, mustard and pepper; stir into egg mixture.

Dip frankfurters in batter, and roll each in breadcrumbs. Cook in deep hot oil until browned. Drain on paper towels. Yield: about 32 appetizer servings.
