Black Bean Chili

Warm up with this slightly spicy chili on a cool day!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 quart tomato juice
  • 14 ounce can chopped tomatoes
  • 4 ounce can chopped green chilies
  • 15 ounce can black beans (do not drain)
  • 3 TB chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

In a large pot, brown the ground meat with the onions. Drain off any excess fat. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for twenty minutes or longer. Serve with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and corn bread.
