Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- non-stick vegetable spray
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tbs. vinegar.

Preparation
Step 1
Combine brown sugar, nuts butter and cinnamon, set aside.
Spray 9x5x3 loaf pan with vegetable spray.
Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition.
Stir flour, baking powder, soda together. Combine evaporated milk and water; stir in vinegar. Add flour mixture alternaetly with milk mixture to creamed mixture blend well after each addition. Turn half the batter into prepared pan.
Top with brown sugar-nut mixture. Spread with remaining batter.
Bake in a slow oven 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Makes 1 loaf.
