Ingredients
- 5 strips of bacon, chopped
- 1/2 onion finely chopped
- 2 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 pinch of dried thyme
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2-3 cups of water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp water
- salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
Step 1
In a medium saucepan, saute bacon over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauteeing until vegetables become soft and bacon is brown. Add bay leaf, thyme, tomato paste and paprika. Add 2 cups water and stir. Simmer for 10 minutes and then stir in cornstarch and simmer for several minutes more over low heat to thicken. Season with salt and pepper.
