Ingredients
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup Brown sugar, Packed
- 2 Eggs, Separated
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 2 1/2 Cups Flour, dipping method
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 Cups Nuts, finely chopped
- 48 tsp jam or frosting, after cookies cool

Preparation
Step 1
Cream Butter and Sugar.
Separate Eggs-Beat Whites light and set aside.
Mix Yolks and Vanilla in with Butter and Sugar. Gradually blend in mixture of Flour and Salt.
Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Dip dough balls in Whites and roll in nuts. Place on greased baking sheets with 1 inch spacing and make thumbprint in balls.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until just lightly golden on the edges.
Optional-fill with jam or fill cooled cookie with frosting.
