  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup white whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup blueberries

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or ling 12 wells in a muffin tin.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.

In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, egg, and buttermilk until smooth.

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients, Mix until just combined. Fold in the blueberries.

Divide the batter evenly amount the wells in the muffin tin. Bake 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the center muffin comes out clean.

Remove the muffins to a wire rack and cool completely.
