  • 4 tbs unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tbs cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 cups fresh, pitted cherries
  • 1 orange, zested
  • vanilla ice cream

Step 1

1. Put the butter in a saucepan over medium heat to melt. Watch out that it doesn't burn, as butter can burn quickly.

2. Add the sugar and cornstarch, stirring until dissolved.

3. next, stir in the water and orange juice until everything thickens.

4. Add the cherries and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.

5. Serve while warm in a small bowl and top with vanilla ice cream.
