Donvier - French Vanilla Ice Cream

We thought we would publish these recipes for those of you that still have your Donvier Ice Cream Maker but lost the recipe book. We don't have ours anymore, but we happened to come across the recipe book the other day. Hope it's useful to some of you!
MY NOTES: Make 1/3 (one-third) of this recipe to use in my Half-Pint Donvier Ice Cream Maker.

Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups cream
- 2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Beat eggs and milk together in a large saucepan.
Add sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened (about 10 minutes). Mixture should smoothly coat the spoon.
Cool, then add cream and vanilla. Refrigerate base overnight, covered, to “age.” Freeze in Donvier Ice Cream Maker. Makes 1 quart.

Chocolate Chip Ice Cream:
Use the Basic Vanilla Recipe or the French Vanilla Recipe above and add 1/2 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips.
Cookies and Cream Ice Cream:
Use the Basic Vanilla Recipe or the French Vanilla Recipe above and add 1/2 cup crumbled chocolate cookies, like Oreo's.
