Ingredients
- 15-oz. can tart red cherries,undrained
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1-1 ⁄4 c. sugar, divided
- 1 c. milk
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1 ⁄8 t. salt
- 1 ⁄2 c. butter, melted
- Optional: vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Preparation
Step 1
Bring cherries to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat; remove
from heat. Mix flour, one cup sugar, milk, baking powder and salt in
a medium bowl. Pour butter into 6 one-cup ramekins or into a 2-quart
casserole dish or; pour flour mixture over butter. Add cherries; do not
stir. Sprinkle remaining sugar over top. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to
30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
Serves 4 to 6.
