Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup raisins

Step 1
Preheat oven 375. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets or use parchment paper, set aside.
In a large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs until well blended and then mix vanilla. Stir together flour, salt, soda, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add to butter mixture; stir well. Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts until evenly moistened.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared cookies sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
Bake until golden, but center still soft, 10 - 12 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
