Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can (16-oz) peeled tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp curry powder
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 shallots, chopped
  • 2 moderately spicy chilis (such as jalapeño), finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Pre-cooked sausages/wursts (pan-fried)

Preparation

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized skillet and sweat the garlic and shallots over medium heat. Add the chilis, tomato paste, and curry, followed by the balsamic vinegar. Simmer for five minutes. Add the tomatoes, and simmer for 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Add more or less chili, depending on your preference. Pour the sauce over the prepared sausages; serve immediately
