Ingredients

  • Barbecue Sauce 2 tablespoons diced white
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup onion
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons water 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons honey 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons molasses 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar fresh parsley
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt thyme or pinch of dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper 1/2 teaspoons of chopped
  • Pinch cayenne pepper fresh sage or a pinch
  • of dried
  • 2 11/4 teaspoons of minced
  • garlic
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons heavy
  • cream
  • 3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire
  • sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • Meatloaf
  • 2 cups sliced or chopped mushrooms

Preparation

Step 1

To make barbecue sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat 10 to 20 minutes. Cool

To make meatloaf: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Saute mushrooms and onion in oil until tender. Remove from heat. In a large bowl, combine meats,egg,crumbs,herbs,garlic and cream. Mix well. Add mushrooms mixture. Add 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce,salt and pepper.Mix well.

Press mixture firmly into a loaf pan. Cover with foil.Bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Uncover. Coat with remaining barnecue sauce. Bake uncovered 15 minutes. Use turkey baster to remove excess fat. Cut into slices and serve
