Steak with Mushrooms,Onions and Thyme Gravy 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 lb sirloin steak,cut in 4 portions
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3/4 lb white or brown mushrooms
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp fresh or 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 c beef stock
  • 1 Large onionsliced or chopped

Preparation

Step 1

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper Sear in pan 2-3 min per side. Remove steaks to a plate

Add remaining oil to the pan. Add mushrooms and onions and cook until tender,about 5 minutes. Mix in flour and thyme. Slowly pour in the stock,stirring steadily Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce starts to thicken Season with salt and pepper Return the steaks to the pan and heat for a few min.
