Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons almond or vanilla extract
Details
Preparation
Step 1
In a food processor, process butter about 30 seconds or until smooth. Using a spatula, scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Add the confectioners sugar and process again, about 15 seconds.
While the motor is running, drizzle in the extract through the small opening in the feed tube.
Process for another 30 seconds, or until smooth.
Cooks Note: For a stiffer frosting, add a little less milk or more confectioners sugar. For a glaze, or thinner frosting add more milk or less confectioners sugar.
This same mixture can also be made in a stand mixer, but add the confectioners sugar on very low speed (or use the bowl cover), as it has a tendency to splash out of the bowl.

Very happy to know that frosting can be made in food processor. Never thought of that. Thanks for the idea.
I was a skeptic but this was REALLY easy and it tasted great. It made enough to frost 2 dozen cupcakes with plenty left over.
Good recipe! I don't have a food processor so I used a whisk. Added cinnamon to go with the cake. Quick, easy, and good.
Worked very well. Made Christmas cookies and used this for the frosting, we added some peppermint flavor to ours. It was wonderful. Thanks for the recipe.
This frosting worked really well. The best part is that it's so simple and you can anything to it and it will still taste great. We made vanilla cupcakes with the boys and had so much fun creating a new unique frosting. Sent to everybody and got thank you letters back. We made them for my Aunt Rosa in her nursing home and she loved it! All the folks at the nursing home went WILD! So did the boys and my husband. This frosting is amazing and is to die for!
I love it making it for the 3rd time today with in about 1 month. Everyone says it very good.
I made this at my friends birthday party at 12 in the morning and surprised her, she loved it we didn't have a mixer or food processor so we used a whisk tasted great thx :)
Got an itch to make a cake from scratch and found this recipe for the frosting. I'm all about easy and this was exactly what I wanted. Prepared it with a hand mixer and used a little less milk than called for to get a thicker frosting. Only took about 5 minutes to complete and it's so yummy!
Simply, easy and quick to make. Does not melt, The suggested sugar amount was way too sweet, so you might want to add to your preference.
Delish!!! Everyone loved it and easy to make. Used it w/fondant.
Best frosting in the world!!!
