Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 5 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour

Use a 9x9 pan for cakey texture or 9x13 for a chewy and moist texture.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter and chocolate in double-boiler. Cool this mixture (or your brownies will be heavy and dry).
Beat eggs and salt until light in color and foamy in texture. Gradually add sugar and vanilla and continue beating until well creamed. With a few swift strokes, combine the cooled chocolate mixture and the eggs and sugar. Before the mixture becomes uniformly colored, fold in flour.
Bake in a greased pan about 25 minutes. For fudgier brownies, cool in refrigerator after taking it out of the oven.
