Ingredients
- 1 pkg dry yeast
- 5 T water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 3 T sugar
- 1 T baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/3 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup melted butter

Step 1
In a small bowl, combine yeast, water, and 1 tsp sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes, until bubbly. In large bowl, combine flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, and mix well. Using pastry blender or food processor, cut in butter until particles are fine. Add yeast mixture and buttermilk and stir until dough forms.
Form dough into 3-inch balls, place on work surface and flatten to 1-inch thickness with your palm. Dip in melted butter and flash freeze. When frozen solid, place in bag, label, seal, and freeze.
To bake: Preheat oven to 400. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets to cool briefly on wire rack.
