Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/8 cups sifted flour
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar, egg and vanilla together. Add shortening. Sift flour, soda and salt and add to shortening mixture. Mix well.

Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet (or use parchment paper!) Bake at 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.
