Who wants a bun when you can have a cheeseburger baked in a flaky pie crust?

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
- 1/4 cup chopped onion (1/2 medium)

Details
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 450 degrees. In 10-inch skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
2. Reduce heat to medium. Add onion; cook 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender. Stir in ketchup, pickle and pepper. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Spoon mixture into ungreased 9-inch pie pan. Sprinkle with cheese.
3. Remove pie crust from pouch; place flat over hot beef mixture. Seal and flute edge; cut slits in several places in crust.
4. Bake 13 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. After 8 to 10 minutes of baking, cover crust edge with strips of foil to prevent excessive browning.

Tasted good. Easy and Fast to prepare. No shopping really, just needed a pie crust. Based on someother reviews, I mixed some chesse into the meat mixture as well as adding it on top. I also added more pickles.
I made this for dinner but I spiced it up just a tad. I added one 7 oz can of chopped green chilli's,and 1 whole medium onion, along with a dash or two of Montreal Steak Seasoning. It was Yummy!.
This was quite tasty, although I made a few changes. Pickles are not popular w/my kids so I skipped them, but thought it would, therefore, need more flavor. I replaced 1/4 cup of the ketchup with Heinz 57--one of my family's favorite sauces. Also, I was too lazy to make a vegetable tonight, so I used 1 pound beef and 1/2 pound frozen peas and carrots; my kids ate it up! I think next time I might try cutting the cheese in chunks and mixing it in the beef mixture--it seemed to get a bit lost under the crust.
My family loves this dish. It has become our saturday night meal.Again another awesome dish.
This is the 1st meal in a very long time that I cooked that everyone in my family liked. Even my youngest who doesn't like ketchup said it was "really good". Don't let the ketchup fool you, once the pie bakes it doesn't taste as strong. Very good will definitely make it again. I am trying to find ways to make it a little healthier, I used ground turkey instead of beef and may try soy crumbles the next time.

A quick and easy recipe that included everything in my pantry. No shopping required! Tasty and good leftover!
I had a great time making this dish!
Easy to make and everyone loves it. My husband and I disagree on the amount of pickle to add... I like more, he likes less. Either way it's always a hit.
This is so good and so easy. I substituted 1/4 cup of catsup with BBQ sauce.
I made this to take to a church gathering and got rave reviews. I added 1/4 cup mustard and increased the pickles to 1/4 cup (I love dill pickles). I also used dried onion flakes instead of real onions (get the flavor without the fuss and time). Will definately make this again!
