Cheddar Bacon Waffles

Waffles that defy convention with their sweet and savory taste. Start with homemade waffles, stir shredded Sharp Cheddar into the batter, and top off with bacon. Add maple syrup and you’ve got a plateful of heaven.

Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 8 pieces cooked bacon (chopped)
- Butter
- Maple Syrup

Preparation
Step 1
While the waffle iron is heating, make the batter. Place eggs in a bowl and beat well. Whisk in milk and oil.
In a seperate bowl, blend flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add to the egg mixture and stir until the batter is smooth. Stir in cheese.
When the waffle iron is hot, pour in enough batter to fill, then sprinkle bacon across the batter before closing the iron. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Serve with butter and maple syrup.
