Ingredients
- Crisco® Peanut Frying Oil Blend
- 1 1/2 cups Martha White® Yellow Corn Meal
- 2/3 cup Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 green onions, finely chopped

Preparation
Step 1
1. POUR peanut oil into deep-fryer. Heat to 360°F.
2. COMBINE cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and sugar in medium bowl. Add buttermilk, eggs and onions. Mix well.
3. DROP batter by tablespoonfuls into hot oil. Fry a few hush puppies at a time 5 to 6 minutes, or until deeply golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter. Serve immediately.
