Ingredients
- 1 cup Jonnycake cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup boiling water
- milk to thin, as needed

Preparation
Step 1
Place dry ingredients in large bowl. Scald mixture with boiling water, being sure water wets all meal. Beat well until smooth. Add about 2 tablespoons milk and mix well. Put 1 tablespoon corn oil and 1 tablespoon bacon grease or margarine or butter in fry pan or griddle. Cook about ten minutes on firs side, until brown. Turn to brown other side and serve hot. Add additional grease, if needed to griddle. Don't let it get dry.)
