Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 celery ribs, minced
  • 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 Tbs dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp tabasco sauce
  • 2 Tbs chopped parsley or chives
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbs olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

In a saute pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Saute the garlic, onions and celery until soft, about 5 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool, In large bowl, combine the mayo, mustard, worcestershire sauce, tabasco, parsley or chives, salt and pepper until well mixed. Whisk in the egg. Carefully fold in the crab meat and enough bread crumbs to bind the mixture. Form into 6 cakes. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Saute the crab cakes 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
