Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup margarine
  • 1 (16 oz.) box light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 6-oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Melt shortening and add brown sugar. Mix well and cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate chips. Bake in a 9" x 13" pan at 350 degrees F. for 35 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares.
