  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 cups pecans

Step 1

Combine sugar, milk, and marshmallows in a heavy 4-qt. saucepan; cook over medium heat to the soft-ball stage (230), stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Add pecans; beat just until mixture begins to thicken.

Working rapidly, drop mixture by tbsp. onto lightly buttered waxed paper, cool.
Store in airtight container.
Yield: 15 (3 in.) pralines
