Ingredients
- l pound quartered rinsed husked tomatillos
- 1/2 coarsely chopped medium onion
- 1 smashed garlic clove
- 1 coarsely chopped Serrano chile (seeds removed, if desired)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves with tender stems

Step 1
Puree the tomatillos in either a food processor or food blender. Then add the onion, garlic, chile and cilantro. Add water as needed until smooth; season with salt.
You can add an avocado if salsa is too thin or for additional flavor and color.
Serve immediately or chilled.
Stores well for 2 weeks.
