  • 3 Cups flour
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons dry buttermilk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cups butter, cold

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Mix all dry ingredients together. Cut in cold butter until its pea sizeed. Mix egg and milk, then pour in dry mix. Stir together with fork. Combine until it forms soft not overmix. Place on floured counter, and pat down until 3/4" thick. Cut cutter works great. Place on ungreased pan and bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
