Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
By Shelly17
Instead of ground beef, I used ground chicken. I also sauteed the onion, pepper, and mushrooms first until they were soft with a few cloves of minced garlic the last minute before adding the meat. To help thicken the sauce, I added a tablespoon of tomato paste after the meat was browned and let the mixture come to a boil. I then reduced heat to simmer for 20-25 mins. It came out yummy- the mixture thickened nicely. Finally, for a little kick, I used jalapeno monterey jack slices instead of provolone.

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat broiler. In large skillet over medium-high heat brown the ground beef/sirloin, about 5-6 minutes. Add the onion, green pepper and mushrooms and cook another 3-4 minutes, until they start to get tender. Stir in the steak sauce and beef stock, season with salt and pepper, bring up to a bubble and cook about 2 minutes.
Split open rolls, place one slice of cheese on one side and toast under broiler, keep your eye on them so they don’t burn!
Place a scoopful of the meat on the bottom half of the bun, drizzle with additional steak sauce and place cheesy bun on top! Delish!
