Ingredients

  • 4 cups sifted flour
  • 8 Tbs cocoa
  • 2 1/2 Tbs baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 2 Tbs vanilla
  • 4 Tbs allspice
  • 5 eggs
  • Frosting
  • 1 box 10x sugar
  • 4 Tbs cocoa
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbs allspice
  • water until mix is semi thick

Step 1

Mix all together and mix by hand, if dough is dry, add a little more crisco, if too soft a little more flour. Knead well, until all is blended together. Dough should be moist.

Roll into 1 to 2 inch balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake t 350 degrees until semi=soft. Do not overcook, they'll be very dry. Cool and frost.

Cover cookie completely with frosting and top with jimmies. Makes a large batch. May also add chopped walnuts or raisins, or chopped candied fruit.
