I made this recipe Christmas Eve for my party and they flew out of the crockpot. I made as directed and then kept them warm in my crock pot. My only regret is that I only doubled the batch -next year I will make even more. My guests raved over the chicken wings and they are so easy to make.
I used just 1/2 cup of lite soy sauce (that's all I had!). I used honey instead of brown sugar; and I used orange juice instead of water (mom says water never imparts flavor). I also added several drops of Frank's hot sauce, because I knew my men would like it! They all gave this two thumbs up! I know we'll enjoy this again and again! Yummmmm!
I've made this recipe at least 20x now for parties and every time I get requests for the recipe. One of the few that I never edit the recipe before preparing. Perfect "as is". The longer you marinate the better they taste.
We had these wings last night and they are so good! Wasn't the recipe I thought it was going to be but it is certainly a keeper.
Hubby and I enjoyed these wings, however, I would decrease time baked in oven, as I noticed these seem to be done after 45 minutes, so I didn't bake them exactly 60 minutes. Some recipes say to bake wings at 350 for 50-60 minutes, while others say, bake them at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
I noticed the recipe calls for 12 wings, I used 7 wings, and 7 drumettes. Also, for those who think these may a bit too salty, try a low sodium soy sauce. In all, we certainly enjoyed the wings, they reminded us of Teriyaki flavored wings. Yum-O!!
I think this is the recipe for wings that I sampled a few months ago but was never able to get a recipe for them......thanks!
