Ingredients
- 1 cup butter-flavored shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups of old fashioned oats
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/3 cups dried cranberries
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp baking soda

Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and baking powder; gradually add the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in cranberries and walnuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls 2in apart onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 12-14min or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
