- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup milk
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 3 eggs

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch cake tin. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly each time. Alternately add flour mixture then milk to cream mixture. Add vanilla. Pour batter into the prepared tin.
Bake 40 - 45 minutes or until done. Frost and enjoy.
