REVIEWS:

I prepared this today. It turned out well. I substituted the milk with buttermilk and used one-half lightly packed brown and one-half white sugar for the filling. I also opted out of the nuts, but scattered 1/2 cup of raisins on the apples. It turned out excellent! My preference is to slice the apples as seen in the photo, and not to "thinly slice" them as the recipe suggests.

I made this for our Sunday Football Gathering...all the participants gave it a big thumbs up...this recipe is a keeper!

I made this for my dad's birthday dessert because apple crisp is his favorite. He and some of my other family said it was good, but I seriously think that they were just being nice... I thought it was horribly dry.

Thankyou for this apple crisp. I have made many but this topping stayed crunchy. My husband loves apple crisp but complains that most toppings get mushy. He went for seconds on this one.

I made this recipe tonight. It was quite good. I used a little lemon zest and juice on the apples, since I did not have very tart apples to start with. I also used a mixture of chopped pecans and walnuts, and sliced almonds. I will make this again, since my picky husband really enjoyed it.

I didn't modify the recipe at all and it was DELICIOUS! Great texture. Excellent alternative to traditional apple pie/crisp.

This was absolutely wonderful! I took it to work today, and several people raved about it. I added approximately 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to the batter that you poor over the apples. This seemed to give it more of an egg custard flavor. I also used Winesap apples which stay a little firmer when cooked and really blended well with the custard-like texture of the filling. This has become my favorite apple dessert recipe. Wonderful way to enjoy apples in the Fall.

Great! So easy to make. What took the longest was peeling the apples. I had everything on hand and it smelled so good baking we could hardly wait to taste it. Will make this again....

My brother and his wife came over for dinner today and after dinner I decided to make this dessert. Since there was only the four of us I made half a recipe. It was wonderful. Very easy and came together very fast and we were eating it in about an hour and a half. I love to make desserts that do not take much time and usually I have all the ingredients on hand. I would recomend this to everyone and it is surely to be added to my recipe book. Loved it.

I made this over a long weekend trip to our mountain cabin. I typically don't like to test first time recipes on guests, but this was truly a winner!! I think we all had seconds. Just imagine if we had ice cream to go with it. Triple Yum-O!!!

I made this for a neighborhood get-together. I was a hit. Everyone loved it and it was so easy. It was gone in 30 mins, and they wanted more. I will make it again..loved it!!
