  • 3 lbs lean stew meat
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 regular bag baby carrots, cut bite-size, halves or so
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can French onion soup

Step 1

Pack stew meat tightly in the bottom of crock pot (pound it in with your fist). Season with pepper (no salt normally needed because of the French onion soup). Layer potatoes and then carrots. Spread the cream of mushroom soup on top to seal the stew. Poke small holes at the edge in a few places and pour the French onion soup on top (the onions will stay on top and the juice will run down under the mushroom soup). Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Stir well before serving.
