Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen halibut steaks (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons snipped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

1. Thaw fish, if frozen; rinse and pat dry. If necessary, cut fish into 2 serving size pieces. In a small bowl combine basil, melted butter, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Brush mixture over both sides of halibut.

2. Place fish on the unheated rack of broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from heat for 8 to 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with fork, turning once.
